Day 143 – Sick Day

Posted by iwanttodothat on January 20, 2010

Sick Day

I woke up sick this morning. Sore throat, earache, sinus drip. Ran to the store for some Zicam, Mucinex, and cough drops. Hoping to feel better sooner rather than later.

Today’s regimen will consist of a lot of rest, lots of fluids, soup, soup, and soup. My throat hurts and I feel like crap. I am loading up on Vitamin C in addition to my regular multi-vitamin, and extra D.

I’ve got to lay low and take care of myself today so I can get back on the horse tomorrow, or Friday, hopefully!

I just found your blog a couple of days ago – I think from Sparkpeople, although I can’t find the link that brought me here. I just want to tell you how great I think you’re doing. I will definitely be following your blog. If you’re on SparkPeople, I’m shellz67 on there. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks, Michelle! I’m glad you’re enjoying it. It should get more exciting as my race calendar is about to be very busy and training will intensify. Thank you for the well wishes, and hopefully this cold (which I think might actually be tree pollen allergies) gets kicked to the curb!

I think that my problem is tree pollen. Bleh. I am going to take some Benadryl tonight to see if I wake up symptom-free in the morning. I have all the classic environmental allergy symptoms: scratchy throat, ears are full, post-nasal drip, slight sinus headache, achy neck/shoulders, tight chest. You get the idea. It must be that time of year already, which means daily allergy control for awhile. Whee.
